In
1985, Patrick J. Momany entered the world of machine development by helping to design and market the first "Wide Format" thermal cutting
system to the sign industry.
Over the years he has expanded his focus and expertise to serve a host of diverse
customers. Some of these customers are highly knowledgeable and experienced in Desktop
Manufacturing, material specification, and precision requirements. Others knowing only
that they need some kind of equipment to perform in a certain way, to do a particular
job.
All wanting quality products, excellent support in a timely manner and at a reasonable
cost.
EdgeWISE Tools, Inc. (EWT) was founded in 1990
by Mr. Momany to provide better cutting solutions to the vinyl sign making industry.
His principal products were after-market cutting tools designed to attach to roll feed plotters. As
part of this process, beginning in 1989, Patrick J. Momany, developed a
Roll Feed Laser (RFL). The technology was far enough ahead of its time that it was
patentable. EdgeWISE Tools received the patents in late 1993. For a brief period, EdgeWISE
Tools licensed the technology to a company in the embroidery market. However, their
product and their marketing techniques were not building the RFL market quickly enough, so
EdgeWISE Tools designed and began selling their own product line, the Roll Feed Laser.
EdgeWISE Tools now manufacture and sells a variety of models throughout the United States
and China and beginning to merge into Canada and Mexico.
EWT’s strength lies in their ability to develop
technological solutions based on customer needs. EdgeWISE Tools is continually working on
new custom orders. The most current project is one for NASA's
Ultra Long Duration Balloon (ULDB)
project
where a the requirement was to cut a 600 ft. +/- 3 in. gore and be able to repeat
that 300 times per balloon. These requests are not uncommon.
Stressing integrity and service, Patrick J.
Momany met those needs and has become one of the top independent
Desktop Manufacturing engineering firms throughout the continental USA. His company has
grown since the beginning, a direction chartered carefully by conscientious
management and carried out by a dedicated group of associates.
